2008 WSOP: Peter Eastgate The Youngest WSOP Champion Ever
The 22 year old dane, Peter Eastgate is now 9 152 416 dollar richer after defeating the russian Ivan Demidov heads-up in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Eastgate started the heads-up-match with a chipadvantage, and never let go of it. Peter has now also beat the record held by Phil Hellmuth, as the youngest winner ever of the WSOP Main Event.
Things started to look really good when he called a mini pre-flop raise. The board came som kom Kd Td 7c. Both players checked and turn came Jd and Peter bet $2,5 million. Ivan raised to 8 miljoner and Peter called. When the river card came 3d Peter checked and Ivan bet 12 million which Peter called with 7d 4d and beat the bluff of Ivans Ac 9s.

At this time Ivan only had approx. 20 million chips with the biggest blinds in the WSOP history of 500 000/1 000 000-150 000. In the last hand of WSOP 2008 Peter limped on the button and the flop came Ks 3h 2c and Ivan checked to Peter who bet 1,25 million which Ivan called. Turn came 4c and Ivan check-raised Peters 2 million bet to 6 million. Peter called and river came 7c. Ivan went all in for nearly 8 million and Peter called, showing Ad 5s for a straight which beat Ivan's two pair 4h 2h.

Peter Eastgate is unknown to many but is a full time poker pro who plays high stakes poker online. Ivan Demidov has also proved that he is a world class player, and his second place in WSOP 2008 and third place in WSOPE are very admirable.
