Today, U.S. Senator Barney Frank will present a legislative proposal to legalize online poker again. The proposal is not about a completely free market but to introduce a licensing system.

The senator from Massachusetts said that: "the proposal will allow Americans to once again play on the Internet and finally lift the erroneous prohibition which has limited the personal freedom of the americans."

The UIEGA Act, which wasn't very appreciated by gaming companies or poker-loving Americans, was introduced when there was a Republican majority in Congress but now, the Democrats are in majority, so there is hope for changes! Yet it's Poker.Net assessment that we still must be careful in its optimism as it has previously been a considerable resistance even among Democrats against online gambling.
