Online poker provider CakePoker has enlarged its selection of guaranteed tournaments alongside the introduction of new events awarding $100 in daily prizes and more than $500 each week.

CakePoker’s new multi-table tournament menu features nine daily guaranteed events with buy-ins ranging from $22 for its $3,000 Turbo Bounty Guarantee game to $162 for the $20,000 guaranteed.

As an added incentive, competitors that finish in the top 20 in any of these events will qualify for Card Player Online Player Of The Year points. CakePoker advised customers to maintain the same identification throughout their tournament play to ensure they receive points.

The online poker site revealed that its enlarged offering was a direct result of analysis of some of its competitors’ line-ups as well as consultation by Card Room Manager Lee Jones with professional players Serge ‘adanthar’ Ravitch and Eric ‘rizen’ Lynch.

“We found the most popular $50 tournament on the Internet and parked our $50 tournament right behind it,” said Jones.

“Now, our players can play at CakePoker along with our competitor’s event. We are putting much more emphasis on freezeout tournaments rather than on rebuys and add-ons. We believe this is better for most players and they seem to prefer it.”

One of the changes sees the site’s $100,000 Guarantee event replaced by a $250,000 Guarantee on the final Sunday of every month. Players can buy seats into this new event for $268 or win tickets though daily satellites running from as little as three dollars.

In addition, players can redeem their Gold Chips in the site’s shop to claim an instant seat to the monthly $250,000 Guarantee tournament or take part in the Gold Card Lottery to receive one of the ten to 30 seats to each of the $250,000 Guarantee’s main events.
