Fans of the long-running High Stakes Poker television programme running on the Game Show Network will be able to tune in for an all-new sixth series beginning early next year.

According to numerous sources, Season 6 will be produced by Poker Productions and begin filming over October and November with episodes due to air in February.

Professional poker players and show regulars Barry Greenstein and Eric Drache have allegedly stated that the latest series of High Stakes is due to convene players in Las Vegas after filming concludes on Poker After Dark, which is also produced by Poker Productions.

Season Five of High Stakes Poker will be remembered for numerous pots involving online poker professional Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan. In one, Dwan flopped the worst hand against World Series Of Poker 2008 main event champion Peter Eastgate and Greenstein but his aggressive play saw him eventually triumph. In another, Dwan took down the biggest pot in the history of the television programme, some $920,000, after defeating Greenstein when both had gone all-in on the flop.
