Mercier owns her own public relations company, No Mercy Productions, and rumours abound that she is currently seeking an English-language publisher for her autobiography, Profession: Bluffer. Flammarion has already published the book in French and the top female is also allegedly looking to sell its film rights. A press release issued by Mercier read that she ‘currently has extensive projects, both nationally and internationally, in the world of poker’ and, without going into detail, stated that the University Of Montreal graduate was ‘not about to give up her life's passion.’
According to a report published by information portal PokerListings, Mercier’s decision not to renew her sponsorship contract was her own and PokerStars has wished her the best.
Fellow Team PokerStars sponsored player Vicky Coren stated that this would not be the last the poker world would see of Mercier.
“I'm sad that Isabelle has left Team Pro but I do understand it,” said Coren.
“The International tournament circuit is pretty relentless but Isabelle has embraced the full-on romantic poker life, always on the road, living out of a suitcase for months at a time.
“In that same romantic spirit, she's now jumping off to try new things and have fresh adventures. Having said that, I would bet good money that we'll still see Isabelle cropping up in the bigger tournaments like Monte Carlo and the PCA. I hope so, because she's one of my favourite people in poker.”
