The Irish Classic Poker Festival takes place from August 10 to 16 at Cork’s Macau Sporting Club with the main event, which will be a $140,000 guaranteed no-limit hold'em tournament with a buy-in costing $1,551, starting on August 13. The penultimate competition will have a starting stack of 15,000 chips with 75-minute blinds.
Last year, Rob Taylor topped a record field of 169 including Annette Obrestad, Michael Greco, Ian Woodley, Roy Brindley, Marty Smyth, Jeff Duval, Sylvester Geoghegan and Mick McCloskey to collect $64,877.
Over 200 players are expected this time out and live satellites offering a place at the main event are also running at Waterford’s Olympus Card Club, Dublin’s JP Poker, Killarney’s Cue Club, Limerick’s Killarney and The Eglinton in Galway with ten seats guaranteed.
